Sangria – Rum Runner Style

I couldn’t decide which would be better to have on  hot, sultry Saturday — a rum runner or Sangria over ice? If only they could be mixed together . . . hmmm . . .

Lo! They can. And it’s freaking delicious. So here it is, my Rum Runner Sangria:

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle sweet wine (I used V. Sattui California Muscat [2005])
  • 1 C. Coconut Rum
  • ½ C. Banana Liqueur
  • ½ C. Orange juice
  • 6 oz. blackberries
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • ½ pineapple, cut into chunks

Directions:

Mix it all together in a pitcher and enjoy! Can it get any simpler?

Because I made a large batch, there was a little left over, I strained out the fruit and kept it in the refrigerator. I subsequently froze the fruit to keep for future use like I do with the fruits in my vodka infusions.
